Emotional Machines??

When we watch movies like "Transformers" and see robots like Bumblebee filled with so much emotions and passion we wonder if that's even possible. This is where these psychologist and computer scientist began researching the nature of being human and the nature of machines. Their trying to find a way for these machines to develop human expression as well as having social and emotional skills. Computers have proved to be faster than humans but fail in showing any type of moods.
They're actually two projects that are currently being worked on by scientists. The first one ESP ( Emotional-Synthesis Prothesis) developed at the MIT Media Lab helps interpret autistic individuals moods and what their intentions probably are, and communicate it back to the user. The second project, helps individuals who have a hard time focusing on a specific task. It determines how focus they are by their movements with the mouse and the pressure patterns on the chair. This allows the computer to determine their level of attention and when it begins to fall the computer can refocus him/her on the specific task.
As scientist continue to develop these emotional machines, the next thing on their agenda will be their appearance, to make them appear more human like...Soon To Come!!
